A record number of Green Party candidates are running for public office in the U.S this election year. Besides the Ralph Nader-Winona LaDuke Presidential-Vice Presidential ticket, Green candidates are running for U.S. Senate, House, state legislatures, mayor and city councils. We’ve invited a group of Green Party candidates to join us this morning on Democracy Now to talk about their campaigns and the state of their party. They are:
Tom Leighton, candidate for U.S. House of Representatives from New York City
Hank Chapot, who’s a candidate for California’s State Legislature from Oakland.
Keiko Bonk, candidate for Mayor of Honolulu, Hawaii.
