New Mexico’s Green Party is one the most successful green parties in the U.S. In 1994, the party gained credibility when former Democratic Lieutenant Governor Roberto Mondragon ran for Governor as a Green and took 10 percent of the vote. The New Mexico Green Party has since qualified for Major Party status and will choose its candidates in today’s primary, as Cindy Simmons reports.
