We do it without ads, corporate sponsorship or government funding. How is this possible? Only with your support. A generous funder will match your donation dollar for dollar if you donate right now. That means when you give $10, your donation will be worth $20. Pretty exciting, right? So, if you've been waiting to make your contribution to Democracy Now!, today is your day. Story
WATCH FULL SHOW

Navy Seals training your local police officers, and cops using MP-5 automatic weapons, Ninja-style battle dress uniforms and armored personnel carriers? Is this just an extension of "black-helicopter" paranoia? Not according to a stunning new study which says that in police departments around the country these are real scenarios, with police being trained increasingly by US military special operations forces.

Joining us today to take a special, in-depth look at the growing
militarization of police forces around the country is the report’s author —
Peter Kraska. He is professor at the Department of Police Studies in the
College of Law Enforcement at Eastern Kentucky University based in
Richmond, Kentucky.

GUEST: PROFESSOR PETER KRASKA, a professor at the Department of
