Twitter & Facebook Remove China-Linked Accounts over Hong Kong Protest Misinformation

Twitter and Facebook removed close to 1,000 accounts they believe were linked to the Chinese government and were spreading misinformation and “sow[ing] political discord” around the protests in Hong Kong. Twitter also said Monday it will no longer publish ads from state-controlled media outlets, in order to “protect healthy discourse and open conversation.”
