At least a thousand Columbia University students are planning to withhold their tuition as part of the largest-ever tuition strike. Over 4,000 students at the prestigious institution are backing demands for a 10% reduction in the cost of attendance during the pandemic, increased financial aid, divestment from fossil fuels, a commitment to ending Columbia’s expansion in Harlem, and providing employment and affordable housing to the local community.
