El nuevo documental "Fire in the Blood" (Fuego en la sangre) examina cómo millones de personas han muerto de SIDA porque las grandes compañías farmacéuticas y Estados Unidos se niegan a permitir que los países en vías de desarrollo importen medicamentos genéricos que salvan vidas.

El problema continúa en la actualidad porque la Organización Mundial del Comercio sigue bloqueando la importación de medicamentos genéricos en muchos países, en virtud de un acuerdo comercial conocido como Acuerdo sobre los aspectos de los derechos de propiedad intelectual relacionados con el comercio (ADPIC).
