Guardian Newspaper Credits Democracy Now! in Breaking Military Domestic Spying Story, New York Times Does Not

The Guardian newspaper of London published a story about the U.S. military spying on peace activists in Washington State. While the Guardian credits Democracy Now! for breaking the story in an exclusive national broadcast, The New York Times, which ran a piece a few days afterwards, does not.

Lawmaker Calls on Pentagon to Explain Promotion of Threat-Wielding Recruiter After Democracy Now! Broadcast

Rep. Gene Green (D–TX) is calling on the Pentagon to explain why a military recruiter was given a promotion despite being found to have illegally threatened a teenage boy with jail time if he decided to go to college instead of joining the military. The recruiter was eventually promoted to head a different recruiting station. Green sent the letter questioning Kelt’s new job after his Wednesday appearance on Democracy Now!
