Despite scores of civilian casualties and the diplomatic disaster caused by NATO’s bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade, NATO has vowed that its air campaign against Yugoslavia will escalate in the coming days, and will not end until Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic agrees to a Western peace plan. The round-the-clock campaign has grown to include as many as 600 missiles daily.
