President-elect Barack Obama is on track to name Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano as Homeland Security secretary. Napolitano is a two-term governor, as well as a former US attorney and state attorney general for Arizona. She was the first governor to call for National Guard troops to secure the US-Mexico border.
