A pesar de la promesa del presidente Obama de restringir la presencia de los ex lobbistas (grupos de presión) en la Casa Blanca, varios de ellos desempañarán importantes papeles en su administración. El National Journal informa que 14 de los 112 miembros del personal de la Casa Blanca nombrados por Obama habían estado registrados como lobistas en algún momento después de 2005.
