Raj Patel, is an activist and academic who has been hailed as a visionary for his prescience about the food crisis; his new book, The Value of Nothing: How to Reshape Market Society and Redefine Democracy, will be published in January. Amy Goodman is the host of Democracy Now! and New York Times bestselling author of Breaking the Sound Barrier.
