DESCRIPTION: Amy Goodman will speak at the benefit concert Brooklyn for Haiti, featuring an entertaining and spirited evening of performances by musicians, singers, poets and writers—many of whom are Haitian and Haitian-American.
Featured performers include: Blues in Red Band with Buyu Ambroise; Eddy Bourjolly with Miriam Augustin, Moumouse and Serge Decius; Jayne Cortez and the Firespitters; Sandra Maria Esteves; Hugues St. Fort, Robert Josephat Large and Yolaine St. Fort; Haitian Students Association – LIU Brooklyn Campus; Jojo Kuo and Amayo of Antibalas; Kongo Band; Marc Mathelier; Sam Newsome Band with Tulvia-Donna Cumberbatch and Andrea Brachfeld; Willie Perdomo; Patrick Rosal; Tabou Combo; Cheryl Boyce Taylor; Voix et Tambours d’Haiti; and Randy Weston.
Proceeds to benefit: the American Red Cross; Doctors Without Borders; Yele Haiti Foundation; and Haitian Women for Haitian Refugees
TICKETS: Tickets to the show are $20 & $15; $12 for LIU students with valid ID. Benefit passes are $50 and include concert admission and a pre-show reception in the Riggio.
