An extensive interview with legendary Beat Generation poet and bookseller Lawrence Ferlinghetti. Democracy Now! spoke with Ferlinghetti on the 50th Anniversary of Jack Kerouac’s “On The Road.” In 1953, Ferlinghetti co-founded City Lights Bookstore in San Francisco, the first all-paperbound bookshop in the country.
