U.S. Apologizes to British Author Barred Entry At Border

The Guardian of London is reporting the U.S. government has taken the unusual move of apologizing to the British novelist Ian McEwan for initially barring him entry to the country last month a day before he was to deliver a lecture to 2,500 people in Seattle. McEwan recently won the US National Book Award for his novel Atonement and is a favorite of First Lady Laura Bush.
