FEC to Allow Candidates to Use Campaign Funds for Child Care

The Federal Election Commission ruled Thursday that candidates can now use campaign funds for child care expenses. The ruling came after New York congressional candidate Liuba Grechen Shirley requested that the FEC allow her to use campaign donations to pay for child care. Shirley said the unanimous decision in her favor was “a game changer for women and parents considering a run for office.”
