Denmark’s Social Democrats Win Most Seats in Election as Far-Right Support Collapses

In Denmark, Social Democrat Mette Frederiksen is poised to become prime minister after her party won the largest share of votes in parliamentary elections held Wednesday, with more than a quarter of ballots cast. Frederiksen has promised to defend Denmark’s social welfare programs and has made combating climate change a priority. The far-right anti-immigrant Danish People’s Party saw its support plunge below 9%.
