Trump Admin Fines Pork Processor $13,500 for Lapses at Plant Where 1,300 Contracted Coronavirus

The U.S. death toll from COVID-19 is approaching 192,000. On Thursday, U.S. Department of Labor fined a Smithfield Foods meat processing plant in South Dakota that became an early hot spot for the coronavirus. Nearly 1,300 workers were infected; 43 were hospitalized; four died. The fine was for less than $13,500.
