Former U.S. officials say the CIA had “low confidence” in an Israeli claim that Iran was plotting to assassinate President Trump last month as he returned to the U.S. from a NATO summit in Turkey. Despite that finding, the Secret Service executed a covert deception operation that saw Trump smuggled off of Air Force One and onto a smaller military aircraft aboard a catering truck.
