Disc 1: Noam Chomsky speech on Gaza
World-renowned scholar and linguist Noam Chomsky speaks at MIT about the past, present, and future of Gaza, the West Bank, and the state of Israel. Chomsky discusses Israel’s occupation of Gaza as another case of colonization in the global historical discourse and that it is centered upon Israel’s desire for expansion and not maintaining its security in the region.

Disc 2: Amy Goodman interview of Noam Chomsky
Award winning journalist Amy Goodman interviews Noam Chomsky, prolific author and Institute Professor Emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Goodman and Chomsky discuss the global economic crisis, healthcare, the media, US foreign policy, the expanding wars in Afghanistan and Pakistan, resistance to American empire, and more.

Interview date: April 3, 2009 in Boston, MA

Disc 3: Crisis and Hope: Theirs and Ours
Noam Chomsky, the MIT professor, author and dissident intellectual, just turned 80 years old this past December. He has written over 100 books, but despite being called “the most important intellectual alive” by the New York Times, he is rarely heard in the corporate media. He spoke recently in New York City at an event sponsored by the Brecht Forum. More than 2,000 people packed into the Riverside Church in Harlem to hear his address, titled “Crisis and Hope: Theirs and Ours.” In his talk, Chomsky discussed the global economic crisis, the environment, wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, resistance to American empire and much more.

Date: June 12, 2009 at the Riverside Church in New York, NY
