SPEECH BY CHARLES KERNIGHAN of the National Labor Committee about working conditions in American-owned factories in Central America, where men, women and children labor long hours for abusive bosses, in unhealthy spaces, for little money, producing consumer goods for the U.S. Kernighan got national attention a few weeks ago when he testified at a Congressional hearing that a clothing line bearing the name of Kathie Lee Gifford, of Regis and Kathie Lee, was being produced under near-slave labor conditions in Honduras.
