Gunmen Raid Pro-Fatah TV Station in Gaza

HeadlineJun 06, 2006

In Gaza, dozens of gunmen connected to Hamas stormed the studios of Palestine Television on Monday. The gunmen smashed equipment and accused the station of favoring Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah faction.

  • Lana Shaheen, manager of the station: “We today are shocked by those gunmen wearing Izz al-Deen al-Qassam (one of Hamas’ militant groups) uniforms, attacking the Palestine TV station at Khan Younis governorate and threatening to kill the Palestinian TV cadre (employees) as well as destroying our equipment. We the employees of Palestine TV condemn and denounce this criminal act and the irresponsible statements by a number of other factions”
