Bronx Hospital Investigating Nurse Who Shared Video of Medical Staff Speaking Out About Lack of PPE

HeadlineMay 11, 2020

The Intercept is reporting that Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx is investigating a nurse for sharing footage with the website that shows medical workers speaking out about the lack of protective equipment and critical supplies they were facing. A nurse in the video blamed the passing of a fellow nurse from COVID-19 on the government’s failure to provide them with proper resources. The nurse under investigation, Lillian Udell, is part of a group known as the “radical nurse squad,” who are organizing nurses at their respective hospitals amid the pandemic.

In neighboring New Jersey, where half of the over 9,000 COVID-19 deaths have been linked to nursing homes, a Veterans Home in Paramus is now reporting 72 fatalities, and the number is expected to keep rising.
