Deadly Cyclone Leaves Millions Without Power in Bangladesh

HeadlineOct 25, 2022

In Bangladesh, at least 16 people are dead and some 10 million were left without power after a cyclone triggered torrential rains, heavy winds and flooding in the capital Dhaka and across other parts of the country. Cyclone Sitrang made landfall in the coastal regions of southern and southwestern Bangladesh late Monday, destroying homes and cutting off telecommunications lines. About a million people were evacuated. This comes as scientists warn climate change is likely making cyclones more intense and frequent.
