New York, NY

September 09, 2013 | Monday | 7:00 pm

583 Park Avenue

583 Park Avenue
New York, NY 10065 ( see map )
Amy Goodman will co-emcee The Charles Horman Truth Foundation’s Tribute to Justice. The foundation is named after Charles Horman, a young American journalist who was abducted from his home in Santiago, Chile following the Sept. 11, 1973 coup against the government of Salvadore Allende. Horman was tortured and executed.

This event will bring together people whose efforts led to the detention and prosecution of coup leader Augusto Pinochet for crimes against humanity. This historic effort and the dynamic new legal doctrines which resulted will be discussed at the free afternoon panel discussions, followed by a ticketed Dinner Awards Ceremony honoring those who brought Pinochet to justice. Artists and activists whose work contributed to the exposure and investigation of Pinochet’s crimes over the years, and helped to foster a worldwide human rights movement, will present the Tribute to Justice awards to those being honored.
