Anniversaries of Bombings
TOMORROW IS THE SECOND ANNIVERSARY OF THE BOMBING OF THE ALFRED MURRAH FEDEDRAL BUILDING IN OKLAHOMA CITY WHICH KILLED 168 PEOPLE. TODAY IS THE FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF THE QANA MASSACRE, WHEN THE ISRAELI MILITARY BOMBED THE UN COMPOUND IN SOUTHERN LEBANON, KILLING AT LEAST ONE HUNDRED CIVILIANS. Gen. John Allen, commander of U.S. Forces Afghanistan, spoke Wednesday at the Pentagon, four stars on each shoulder, his chest bedecked with medals. Unlike Allen, many decorated U.S. military veterans left the streets of Chicago after the NATO summit without their medals.
