    The Council of Conservative Citizens (CCC) is a white organization that regularly publishes anti-black, anti-Latino, anti-immigration, and anti-gay literature in its newsletters and on its web page and whose membership has ties to Neo-Nazi and other white supremacist groups. Democracy Now! has exposed the ongoing relationship between Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, House Judiciary Committee Member Bob Barr, and the CCC.

  • An Audio Diary of War and Impeachment

    Amy Goodman spent this past weekend in Washington, at the Capitol, watching the House debate the impeachment of President Clinton. It was the fourth night of U.S.-British bombings against Iraq. In the Speaker’s room, Amy had the chance to interview many of the House members as they stepped off the House floor for a break from the debate. They were ready to talk about impeachment and even about sex, but they seemed surprised when asked about Iraq, as if the issue had become irrelevant.
