It appears as though the Balkans are once again on the brink of war. This morning, Ethnic Albanian extremists have continued battling Macedonian security forces along the border with the southern Serbian province of Kosovo.

Hundreds Rally to Mark the First Anniversary of Patrick Dorismond’s Death
Over five hundred people gathered on Saturday on Church Avenue in Brooklyn to mark the 1st anniversary of the death of Patrick Dorismond, a 26-year-old Haitian-American who was shot dead by an undercover New York City policeman. Among those present at the rally, organized by the Haitian Coalition for Justice, were Dorismond’s sister and mother.

Former Black Panther Members Assert That the Black Liberation Army Curbed Police Brutality, and Call On Youth to Take Their Place
At last week’s conference on the prison industrial complex at Columbia Law School in New York called Critical Resistance East, several former members of the Black Panther Party told their own stories of the party. The Panthers continually returned to the importance of self-defense in the face of police brutality, and called on the youth to take their place.
