Austin, TX

February 21, 2014 | Friday | 6:00 pm

The White Horse

500 Comal St
Austin, TX 78702 ( see map )
Join us on February 21st for The Texas Observer’s 13th Annual Rabble Rouser Round-Up & Fat Cat Schmoozefest — a night of fabulous people, fantastic music, food and fun! This is one of our biggest fundraising events of the year, and we’re returning to the super hip White Horse Saloon in East Austin, located at 500 Comal St, Austin, TX.

Sponsors arrive at 6:00 pm for the Fat Cat Schmoozefest portion of the event. It’s a chance to meet and greet some of the finest progressive folks around and talk up plans for the coming year.

7:00 pm is when the Rabble Rouser Roundup begins, so all ticketholders and fans of nonprofit independent journalism are encouraged to be on site and ready to boogie by then. This is your chance to mix, mingle and appreciate great live music with progressive Texans while raising money for The Texas Observer.

The 13th Annual Rabble Rouser Roundup Will Feature:

  • Guest Speaker: Amy Goodman (host of Democracy NOW!) *
  • Live Music by Local Talent *
  • A happy hour buffet provided by East Side King and Tacos & Tequila *
  • KUTX DJ Jody Denberg honoring founding editor Ronnie Dugger *
  • Recognition of Tyrant’s Foes from around the state and the presentation of the People’s Friend Award *
  • Mingling with esteemed Observer reporters, editors and freelancers. *
