TWILIGHT OF EMPIRE: An Evening with Viggo Mortensen, Amy Goodman, and Anthony Arnove

Join Viggo Mortensen, Amy Goodman, and Anthony Arnove for a discussion of the newly reprinted 12th Anniversary Edition of TWILIGHT OF EMPIRE: RESPONSES TO OCCUPATION, an incisive collection of essays from renowned critics and journalists on the American occupation of Iraq.

Viggo Mortensen is an artist known for his acting in movies (The Lord of the Rings, The Road, A History of Violence, Eastern Promises) and onstage, but also works as a poet, photographer, and painter. In 2002, he founded Perceval Press (, an independent publishing house specializing in art, poetry, and critical writing. Perceval’s mission is to publish texts, images, and recordings that might not otherwise be presented.

Anthony Arnove produced the Academy Award-nominated documentary Dirty Wars and wrote, directed, and produced The People Speak with Howard Zinn. He is the editor of several books, including Voices of a People’s History of the United States, which Arnove co-edited with Zinn, The Essential Chomsky, and Iraq Under Siege, and is the author of Iraq: The Logic of Withdrawal.
