U.K., Iraqi Forces Attack Torture-Linked Basra Police Station

In other Iraq news, British and Iraqi forces attacked a police station Monday described as stomping ground for militia groups. The Basra police station had been accused of housing scores of human rights abuses. The British military says it intervened because dozens of prisoners were set to be executed. Many of the freed prisoners apparently showed signs of torture. The compound was later destroyed.
