Hi there,

Can you donate $10 per month to support Democracy Now!’s independent journalism all year long? Since our very first broadcast in 1996, we’ve refused to take government or corporate funding, because nothing is more important to us than our editorial independence—especially in this unprecedented election year. When Democracy Now! covers war and peace or the climate crisis, we’re not brought to you by the weapons manufacturers or the oil, gas, coal or nuclear companies. Our journalism is powered by YOU. But that means we can’t do our work without your support. Right now, a generous donor will DOUBLE your gift, which means your $10 donation this month will be worth $20 to Democracy Now! Please do your part right now. We’re all in this together. Thank you so much.

About Democracy Now!

In 1996 Democracy Now! was launched on nine public radio stations.
Today, the daily news hour airs on more than 1,500 public TV and radio stations around the world and has grown to be one of the leading independent U.S.-based TV and radio news and public affairs programs.

Hosted by award-winning journalists Amy Goodman and
Juan González, Democracy Now! reports the breaking daily headlines followed by in-depth interviews with people on the front lines of the world’s most pressing issues.

Democracy Now! brings a diversity of voices not often heard on other U.S. media outlets. These voices include independent and international journalists, scientists, academics and independent analysts, historians, grassroots leaders, artists, filmmakers, authors and ordinary people affected by events in the U.S. and around the globe.

Program Format

Democracy Now! is produced live each weekday from 8:00 to 8:59 am ET. The program length is 59 minutes, beginning with 8 to 10 minutes of breaking news headlines, followed by an in-depth interview format which allows for extended discussions, analysis and debates around the important news of the day. The program includes two one-minute music breaks at approximately 20 and 40 minutes into the program.

The Democracy Now! news hour is distributed live to TV and radio stations via satellite and livestream. Broadcast quality digital files are also available. The program is offered at no cost to public, college and community access TV, radio and internet stations. Many TV and radio stations air the news hour live and program at later times throughout the day.

For 25 years Democracy Now! has been producing top-quality award-winning journalism covering breaking news from around the world with in-depth reporting on important stories—stories often picked up later by other news programs. More and more stations are finding out the Democracy Now! news hour rounds out their station news programing adding important diverse global perspectives.
