Meanwhile, the Food and Drug Administration is poised to authorize a third dose of vaccine for people with weakened immune systems, such as cancer patients and organ transplant recipients. The World Health Organization recently urged wealthy nations not to authorize booster doses until 10% of people in every country have had access to a vaccine.
