Mexican Soldiers Shoot Dead FIve Unarmed Men in Nuevo Laredo Near Border

Mexican soldiers shot dead five unarmed men on Sunday in the town of Nuevo Laredo, across the border from Laredo, Texas, sparking angry protests. The men were reportedly returning home from a nightclub. The Nuevo Laredo Human Rights Committee said soldiers fired at least 20 shots at the men, who were in a pickup truck. A sixth person in the truck was injured. Soldiers later fired shots to disperse local residents who began protesting at the scene of the shooting.
