Ramadan is one of Europe’s most prominent Muslim scholars. He was denied entry to teach at the University of Notre Dame two years ago. On Thursday, US district judge Paul Crotty said: “There is not a clarity within the government as to what procedures to follow. I find that very troubling.” Judge Crotty’s comments came during a hearing for a case brought by the American Civil Liberties Union on Ramadan’s behalf.
