Sharron Angle to Latino Students: “You Look a Little Asian”

HeadlineOct 19, 2010

The Republican Senate nominee in Nevada, Sharron Angle, is facing criticism for telling a group of Latino high school students that they look Asian. A student videotaped Sharron Angle’s remarks on a cellphone.

Sharron Angle: “So that’s what we want is a secure and sovereign nation. And, you know, I don’t know that all of you are Latino. Some of you look a little more Asian to me. I don’t know that. What we know about — what we know about ourselves is that we are a melting pot.”

During the same talk, Sharron Angle told students, “Our northern border is where the terrorists came through. That’s the most porous border that we have.”
