Guatemala: Tens of Thousands March to Demand President’s Resignation

In Guatemala, tens of thousands of people marched through the streets Thursday to demand the resignation of President Otto Pérez Molina. It is the latest in months of massive demonstrations over a corruption scandal that has led to the resignation of the majority of the president’s Cabinet and the arrest of top officials. Earlier this week, the Supreme Court lifted the president’s immunity from prosecution, clearing the way for his impeachment, and passing the impeachment recommendation along to Congress.
