Caribbean political philosopher Charles Mills died Monday at the age of 70. A longtime educator, Mills was most recently distinguished professor of philosophy at the City University of New York. His landmark book “The Racial Contract” challenged the deracialized framework of the “social contract.” Mills wrote, “White supremacy is the unnamed political system that has made the modern world what it is today.”
