Separately on Wednesday, Trump’s Health Department ordered the national suicide hotline for LGBTQ+ youth to shut down next month. In its announcement, HHS omitted reference to the transgender population, using the term “LGB+ youth services.” One advocate called the move a potential “death sentence” for thousands of LGBTQ+ youth.
