Israeli Strikes Kill 11 People in Southern Lebanon

HeadlineSep 08, 2026

In southern Lebanon, Israeli strikes on Monday killed 11 people, including two children. They follow Israeli attacks one day earlier that killed seven people. Just days earlier, Israel’s military announced it had captured a strategic ridge overlooking the city of Nabatieh. Despite a ceasefire, Israel claims its troops will continue occupying southern Lebanon until Hezbollah is disarmed. This is Mustafa Hawi, who was injured in Israeli strikes.

Mustafa Hawi: “My son, here he is injured. We just came back from the clinic. They did a scanner imaging for him. He had a shrapnel — glass, pebble or shrapnel — in his kidney, so thank God. The same for me, I was hurt in my hands, legs and head, too. They did a scanner imaging because I had a concussion in my head.”
