Teaches constitutional law and civil liberties at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. In 1970, as a captain in Army intelligence, he disclosed the military’s surveillance of civilian groups. He went on to work for Senator Sam Ervin’s Subcommittee on Constitutional Rights and Senator Frank Church’s Select Committee on Intelligence. He is the author of four books; his most recent is Getting Away with Torture.
