Egyptian Dissident Alaa Abd El-Fattah Beaten in Custody, Says Family

In Egypt, the family of prominent Egyptian dissident Alaa Abd El-Fattah says he has been beaten, threatened and abused in custody since being arrested late last month amid an anti-government protest. The Egyptian authorities have arrested more than 2,000 people since the protests began.
