Haitians March on U.S. Embassy Demanding Biden End U.S. Support for Haiti’s Authoritarian President

HeadlineNov 19, 2020

In Haiti, protesters marched in Port-au-Prince Wednesday calling for the resignation of Jovenel Moïse, Haiti’s U.S.-backed president, who is now ruling the country by decree after he dismissed Parliament in January. Protesters called on President-elect Biden to stop supporting Moïse.

Protester: “President Trump is no longer in power. He was supporting President Jovenel Moïse. We are going to the embassy to tell them to abandon Jovenel so that the country can develop.”
