In medical news, the drugmaker Pfizer says early data from a large clinical trial shows a coronavirus vaccine cut symptomatic COVID-19 cases by more than 90% in volunteers who received the vaccine instead of a placebo. It’s a promising sign that scores of vaccines currently under development will prove effective at battling the pandemic.
