WHO Approves Emergency Use of India’s 2-Shot Coronavirus Vaccine Covaxin

The World Health Organization has granted emergency use authorization to India’s COVID-19 vaccine known as Covaxin. The two-dose vaccine is based on an inactivated form of the coronavirus. It’s easily stored and showed 78% efficacy against symptomatic disease in a clinical trial. It’s the eighth COVID-19 vaccine approved by the WHO.
