New York Repeals Anti-Transgender “Walking While Trans” Law

In New York, an anti-sex-worker law commonly known as the “walking while trans” ban has been repealed, marking a major victory for sex workers and transgender advocates who have been pressuring state officials for years. The law, which prohibited loitering for the purpose of sex work, led to the disproportionate criminalization, police harassment and arrests of Black and Brown trans people.
