Trump adviser and longtime ally Tom Barrack was arrested Tuesday and charged with failing to register as a foreign agent for the United Arab Emirates, conspiracy, obstruction of justice and making false statements to the FBI. The New York Times reported Barrack’s real estate company received some $1.5 billion in investments from the UAE and Saudi Arabia between Trump’s 2016 nomination and mid-2019. Barrack was chair of Trump’s inauguration committee.
