HeadlineOct 06, 2022

The French writer Annie Ernaux has won the Nobel Prize for Literature. The Nobel Committee cited Ernaux for the “courage and clinical acuity with which she uncovers the roots, estrangements and collective restraints of personal memory.” Her books include “Happening,” about a young woman student who has an abortion. Last year it was made into an award-winning film. On Friday, the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize will be announced.
