Senate Confirms Dr. Mehmet Oz to Lead Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

The Senate has confirmed Dr. Mehmet Oz to head the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The former TV host and doctor has long supported the privatization of Medicare. The confirmation comes one day after Senate Republicans unveiled a budget blueprint which includes $4.5 trillion in tax breaks for the wealthy that Republicans would pay for by slashing Medicaid.
