French Socialists Hold Power in Local Elections

In France, left-wing parties and allies held on to power in Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Lille as local elections were held Sunday. Socialist Emmanuel Grégoire was elected as the mayor of Paris. Meanwhile, the far-right National Rally made some gains in smaller towns and France’s rural areas. France is holding presidential elections next year.
