Two natural gas companies have agreed to halt new operations in Arkansas following a series of earthquakes that some scientists believe were caused by the drilling. There have been more than 800 earthquakes in central Arkansas in the past six months, including a 4.7-magnitude quake last week—the strongest earthquake to hit Arkansas in 35 years.
